    Upemba National Park is one of the oldest national parks of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was first established in May 1939 because of its high value in biodiversity covering 13,673 km² of wilderness.

  • One Health Initiative

    We are implementing the One Health initiative in the Upemba & Kundelungu National Park complex (UKC) as part of a worldwide strategy for expanding interdisciplinary collaborations and communications in all aspects of health care for humans, animals and the environment. The synergism achieved will advance health care for the 21st century and beyond for all those who reside within the areas of the CUK.
